You Are Your Passion

Interests and hobbies are as varied as the individuals that carry them, but in my humble opinion, passions are different than those. I am interested in comic books, sci-fi and other nerdy things, but I am passionate about my family and giving them the best I can. Some people have the focus and attention to work solely and single-mindedly towards those passions every waking moment. I am not one of those people, and while I envy them in some regards, I wouldn’t want to only think about a single thing in a day. Passions are different in that those are the things that drive you, the reasons you go to work, or choose the hobbies you do and spend free time in the way you do.
How you go about accomplishing the needs you are passionate about has a wide variety of interpretations, and it doesn’t all need to be grandiose accomplishments to give you a sense of fulfillment. Your passions might be helping people, so you volunteer in a hospital or food bank. Or you may be passionate about making a lasting impact on the world, so you decide the best way to accomplish that is by running for public office, or it could be as small (but just as important) as instilling your children with your code of ethics and morals to carry into this world a belief system that you have found to be the most effective.
Your dreams and goals many times align with your passions if you look closely enough. I am passionate about being the best dad I can be to my kids, which means being able to provide the things they need (and some of the things they want depending on how well they are behaved) without them ever having to fear going without. In order to accomplish this, I have found a good job, have proven my worth and have been ambitious in pursuing more responsibility and higher wages. I am passionate about learning and constant education, so to accomplish this, I read new things and keep current on American and Global politics, look up the answers to even the smallest of questions so I can store just one more useless piece of trivia in my brain (like that bull sharks have a gland that stores salt water in their head which allows them to swim in fresh water for a time which is why they can be found in rivers occasionally).
R&R is passionate about being the best possible supplier of business needs we can be. We are critical in our self-evaluations, and open minded when we receive feedback. The management structure is democratic in nature filled with strong-willed people so that no one voice is louder than the others. Everything we do and every decision we make is based on filling that passion to the furthest possible extent and being the most effective business partner we can be.
